MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421012233 A) filed by Tata Motors Limited, Maharashtra, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'a wheel assembly for a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include T Arun Prakash; and Dinesh Babu M.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A wheel assembly (100) for a vehicle. The wheel assembly (100) includes a wheel rim (3), and that includes at least one first extension (1a) extending away from the hub (1). A disc (2) rotatably receivable by the hub (1) is provides and is configured to rotate between an engaged position (A) and a disengaged position (B). The disc (2) includes at least one second extension (2a) extending transversely to the at least one first extension (1a), where the first extension (1a) and the second extension (2a) are aligned to fixedly connect the disc (2) with the hub (1) in the engaged position (A) and the disc (2) in the disengaged position (B), is disconnected from the hub (1) to remove the disc (2) from the hub (1)."
