MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010137 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'assistive device for cleaning and storage of irrigation pipes.'

Inventor(s) include Neeraj Kaushik; and Devendra Pal Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An assistive device for cleaning and storage of irrigation pipes, comprising a curved body 1 positioned in contact with a user's torso region, a strap 2 is equipped with body 1 for securing body 1 with user's torso region, a touch sensor for detecting positioning of body 1 in contact with user's torso region, a motorized roller 3 configured with strap 2 to rotate for wrapping strap 2, a telescopically operated plate 4 installed with rectangular frame 5 via a link 6 to manually engage free-end of irrigation pipe with frame 5 by passing pipe through a pair of cylindrical members 7 configured with plate 4, a first and second L-shaped handle 8, 9 for wrapping pipe over frame 5, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting thickness of pipe and a motorized slider 11 for translating members 7 towards/away from each other to remove dirt from pipe."
