MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010145 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'automated plant nursing device.'
Inventor(s) include Amit Kumar Bishnoi; and Shakuli Saxena.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated plant nursing device includes a body 1 configured with multiple compartments 2 positioned around a plant, a tactile sensor for detecting hardness of soil surface and accordingly multiple spikes 3 actuates for drilling soil to affix body 1 with soil surface, series of sensors 4 for identifying moisture content, nutrient content and texture of soil surface, based on which microcontroller evaluates requirement of water, fertilizers and manure for promoting growth of plant, an nozzle 5 configured with each compartment 2 actuates to dispense an appropriate amount of essentials, an acoustic sensor to detect presence of insects on plant and actuates an ultrasonic sound generator 6 accordingly to produce ultrasonic waves to deter insects, an imaging unit 7 for monitoring plant growth, in case of detection of inappropriate plant growth, an alert is sent over user's computing unit regarding detected inappropriate growth to permit user to take necessary actions."
