MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411009853 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 13, 2024, for 'basketball practicing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A basketball practicing device, comprises of a platform 1 attached with multiple suction cups 8 to adhere over a wall of an enclosure, an extendable ring 2 installed with the platform 1 via a pneumatic bar 3 access by a user to practice basketball, a microphone 4 configured with the platform 1 to give voice commands regarding for releasing a ball initially accommodate with the ring 2, a biometric sensor 5 integrated with the platform 1 for allowing the user to give fingerprint data for verification, a laser acuity sensor installed with the ring 2 for detecting dimension of the ball, multiple pneumatic links integrated with the ring 2 to extend for increasing size of the ring 2 to release the ball, and a motorized hinge 7 configured between the platform 1 and bar 3 for tilting the ring 2 to comfortably throw the ball within the ring 2."
