MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010135 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'drilling assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Sunil Kumar; and Pankaj Kumar Goswami.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A drilling assistive device, comprising a body 1 is gripped by user by a handle 2 to be accessed by a user and position body 1 on a fixed surface, two suction cups 3 each configured with body 1 for affixing body 1, an AI-based imaging unit 5 for evaluating 3D mapping of workpiece which is displayed on a touch interactive display panel 6 enabling user to specify drilling location and diameter of drill, a telescopic rod 7 positions a disc 8 on workpiece, a telescopic bar 9 configured with a plate 10 having various slots 11 connected with disc 8 via a pivot joint 12 for positioning the plate 10 on workpiece, and a motorized bevel gear 13 installed in between plate 10 and bar 9 for rotating plate 10 to positon a slot 11 over workpiece, a speaker 14 for notifying user to initiate drilling."
