MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010141 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'plaster cast covering device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Kaushik Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A plaster cast covering device, comprising a platform 1 arranged with a camera 2 to detect position of a plaster casted on user's limb, a holographic projector 3 installed on platform 1 for guiding user to align limb as projected image, a primary 5 and secondary chamber 6 attached with platform 1 for storing cast cover 4, a robotic clipper 7 grips one cover 4 and accommodate a ring 8 of cover 4 over user's limb for covering plastered portion, a laser acuity sensor detects dimension of limb, an iris lid 9 integrated within ring 8 for making grip on limb, an air compressor for inflating an inflatable body in view of providing comfortable and secure grip, a container 10 stored with water in which clipper 7 places used cover 4 as detected by camera 2 and a Geneva arrangement 11 for rotating container 10 to clean cover 4."
