Abstract: ‘‘CELL DTX-DRX PROCEDURE IN COMMUNICATION NETWORK” The present invention discloses a method for handling a DTX-DRX procedure in communication network (300) by. The method includes configuring, by a network apparatus (200) a DTX and/or a DRX procedure that operates across a plurality of RRC states of the UE. The DTX-DRX procedure is configured based on RRC messages and/or DCI signaling. The method includes activating, by the network apparatus, a DRX operation and/or a DTX operation for the cell in which the UE operates in at least one RRC state of the plurality of RRC states. The method includes scheduling, by the UE, at least an uplink transmission from the UE to a network apparatus (200) and monitoring, by the UE, of PDCCH in at least one Serving cell corresponding to at least one of a downlink transmission to UE from network apparatus, and an uplink transmission from the UE to a network apparatus, based on the DTX-DRX procedure, when the DRX operation or the DTX operation is activated for the cell and the UE operates in the at least one RRC state.
