Abstract: TITLE: “Apple Stem Cell–Coated Spicule Compositions and Methods for Topical Skin Treatment The present invention relates to a cosmetic delivery material comprising marine sponge-derived biogenic spicules having apple plant stem cell-derived bioactive material physically associated with at least a portion of an external surface and/or one or more accessible surface microstructures of the spicules prior to incorporation into a topical cosmetic composition. The invention further relates to a process for preparing the coated spicules comprising cleaning the marine sponge-derived spicules, contacting the spicules with the apple plant stem cell-derived bioactive material, optionally applying vacuum-assisted conditions to facilitate surface association and penetration into accessible surface microstructures, recovering the coated spicules, and drying the recovered material. The resulting coated spicule material may be incorporated into cosmetically acceptable formulations including serums, gels, creams, lotions, emulsions, suspensions, toners, ampoules, masks, and sprays. The pre-associated coating distinguishes the coated spicule material from a simple physical mixture of uncoated marine sponge-derived spicules and separately added plant-derived bioactive material.
