Abstract: ABSTRACT “HANDLING NON-ACCESS STRATUM (NAS) MESSAGES IN A COMMUNICATION NETWORK SYSTEM” The present invention relates to a method and system for handling NAS messages in a communication network system. The method includes receiving a NAS message from a network apparatus (200). The NAS message includes a type of message, an IE, and a value. Further, the method includes determining whether the type of message and the IE corresponding to the type of message are present in configuration files that are pre-configured at the UE (100). Further, the method includes implementing the actions in a sequence defined within the configuration files for the IE with the value, when the type of message and the IE are present in configuration files. Further, the method includes transmitting an accept message to the network apparatus (200), when the type of message and the IE provided in the NAS message is not present in the configuration files.
