Abstract: ABSTRACT “HANDLING PLMN-SPECIFIC ATTEMPT COUNTERS IN A DISASTER ROAMING REGISTRATION PROCEDURE IN A WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM” The present invention relates to a method and system for capability reporting for handling PLMN-specific attempt counters in a disaster roaming registration procedure in a wireless communication system. The method includes receiving a registration accept message from a PLMN upon initiation of the disaster roaming registration procedure between the UE (100) and the PLMN. Further, the method includes determining whether the registration accept message is for disaster roaming services based on the registration accept message. Further, the method includes resetting a PLMN-specific attempt counter for the PLMN, when the registration is not for disaster roaming services. Further, the method includes resetting the PLMN-specific attempt counter of the PLMN for a PLMN determined by the UE (100) with a disaster condition when the registration is for disaster roaming services.
