Abstract: ABSTRACT An optical wireless patient monitoring system ("LumiCare") is disclosed for deployment within radio-frequency (RF) restricted medical environments. The system includes a patient-side transmitter subsystem featuring a plurality of biomedical sensors that continuously acquire physiological data such as temperature and heart rate. An embedded microcontroller processes and encodes this data into a binary bitstream, which drives an optical modulation circuit connected to a high- brightness LED array. The LED array transmits the data via rapid on-off keying intensity fluctuations that are imperceptible to the human eye. A detached receiver subsystem comprises an optoelectronic photodetector aligned via a line-of-sight channel to intercept the optical signals, converting them into an electrical signal that is decoded by a receiver processor. The validated vital signs are displayed on a real-time monitoring interface equipped with threshold-driven interrupt routines to trigger emergency alerts during anomalous clinical events, completely eliminating radio-frequency interference.
