MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202431083885 A) filed by Tata Steel Limited on November 02, 2024, for “method And System For Predictive Analysis Of Coke Oven Gas Generation In Steel Plant”.
Inventors include Shomick Roy; Nitish Kumar; and Nitin Lodha.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: In a Steel Plant, the generation and consumption of by-product gas is dynamic, and varies depending upon the process requirement and plant availability. Therefore, an Intelligent CO Gas Generation Predictive model (Machine Learning Based Model) is developed that is capable to forecast the generation of CO in Advance and Assist the EMC. To achieve this, running time of the one or more coke ovens present in each of the plurality of the coke batteries is determined based on input data of coke ovens. A cumulative sum of running time, for each coke battery is calculated. Thereafter, correlation of the cumulative sum of running time, one or more coal properties and the one or more battery operating parameters corresponding to each coke battery of the plurality of coke batteries in real-time to predict the coke oven gas generation.
