Abstract: The present invention provides a novel 2-benzyloxy-5-(2-phenyl-thiazol-4-yl)-benzoic acid methyl ester compounds of Formula I or its pharmaceutically acceptable salts and process for synthesis thereof. The Formula I is represented by Wherein ‘R’ is independently selected from hydrogen (-H), C1-C5 alkyl, and halogen. The synthesis of 2-Benzyloxy-5-(2-phenyl-thiazol-4-yl)-benzoic acid methyl ester is carried out by reacting 2-Benzyloxy-5-(2-bromo-acetyl)-benzoic acid ester with thiobenzamide in the presence of glycerol as a solvent. It offers several characteristics including easy execution, simplicity, use of safe and easily accessible glycerol as a green medium, simple work up and maximum yields.
