Abstract: ABSTRACT A Vehicle Emission Real-time Integrated Tracking and Attestation System (VERITAS) and associated method provide a retrofit-compatible, consumer- accessible framework for continuous multi-pollutant automotive exhaust tracking and decentralized compliance certification. The system incorporates an Emission Sensing Unit housing a multiplexed solid-state and electrochemical sensor array installed in the exhaust pathway, an On-Board Diagnostics Interface Layer linked to the vehicle's diagnostic port, and an Edge Computing and Fusion Module. The edge module executes a machine learning sensor fusion model calibrated against reference- grade portable emission measurement systems to calculate accurate mass emission rates. A cloud engine filters the data for normal emission conditions and applies statistical conformity algorithms to evaluate regulatory compliance. Compliant states trigger the automated generation of an asymmetric-key dual-signed digital certificate, the cryptographic hash of which is anchored to a distributed ledger for immutable, decentralized public verification.
