MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411028085 A) filed by Bennett University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 5, 2024, for '3d display technology for portable computing devices.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a virtual 3D display system (100) for portable computing devices, comprising a substrate (102); a flexible display (104) positioned on the substrate, wherein the flexible display comprises a pair of foldable sections (106) and a main section (108), wherein each foldable section (106) provides a first independent viewing area and a second independent viewing area for personalized content, respectively, and the main section provides a shared viewing area for shared content; a hinge mechanism (110), integrated with each foldable section, to facilitate a folding and an unfolding action; a stress distribution frame (112), incorporated within the substrate and around the periphery of the flexible display, wherein the stress distribution frame evenly distributes mechanical stress across the flexible display; a mechanical locking mechanism (114), coupled with the foldable sections (106), to securely lock the foldable sections (106) in both the unfolded and folded positions; and a shock absorption system (116), integrated within the flexible display (104), to absorb and mitigate impacts from daily handling, drops, or external forces."
