MUMBAI, India, June 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517046993 A) filed by Meld Manufacturing Corporation, Christiansburg, U.S.A., on May 15, for '5000 series aluminum alloy products produced using solid state manufacturing.'
Inventor(s) include Henderson, Ryan; Azad, Mandana, Meisami; Clear, Chase; Cox, Chase; Yoder, Jake K.; and Colvin, Edward.
The application for the patent was published on June 6, under issue no. 23/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Solid-state additive manufactured aluminum alloy products and methods of producing them are described. At least 60% percent by volume of the aluminum in the additive manufactured aluminum alloy product is present as equiaxed grains with aspect ratios less than 2: 1. There is minimal void space between metal atoms of the additive manufactured aluminum alloy product. Various parts including 5000-type aluminum alloy products are described."
The patent application was internationally filed on Oct. 16, 2023, under International application No.PCT/US2023/035245.
