MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202524029296 A) filed by Alstom Holdings, Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, France, on March 27, for 'a battery charger device providing suppression of ripple currents.'

Inventor(s) include Olle Trollberg; Henrik Mosskull; and Kanani Ashok.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Battery charger (2) for charging battery module (4) batteries comprising: diode rectifier (6), for rectifying three-phase supply voltage US, to DC voltage(8), battery chopper (10) for generating charging DC voltage (12) from the DC voltage for charging the batteries, dependant on control ratio (CR) data of a control signal (14), battery charger control unit (16) comprising a main control module(18) for calculating and generating main control signal comprising main CR data (19) for a step-up chopper (10) controlled to generate charging DC voltage. Battery charger control unit (16) comprises estimation calculation module (24) for estimating values (26) of DC voltage (8) ripple on amplitude/phase/frequency based upon supply voltage US frequency/amplitude for determining ripple CR data and ripple suppression CR data (30) having the opposite phase of ripple CR data and determining a control signal (14) to chopper (10) where ripple suppression CR data (30) is superimposed on main CR data."
