MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411030277 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on April 15, 2024, for 'a battery pack for a vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Ayan Shree; and Meenakumari Lakshman Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A battery pack (100) of vehicle includes one or more top cell holders (102) to support a plurality of cells (104) of the battery pack (100) at a top end (104-A) of the cells (104), and one or more bottom cell holders (106) to support the plurality of cells (104) at a bottom end (104-B) of the cells (104). The top cell holders (102) and the bottom cell holders (106) together define a closed inter cell space between the cells (104) that is filled with a phase change material (108) to absorb heat generated during overheating of any of the plurality of cells (104) and a cooling plate (110) to absorb heat from the plurality of cells (104) during normal functioning of the battery pack (100) preventing thermal propagation to the adjacent cells."
