MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641003921 A) filed by Sarraju Beverages Llp, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Jan. 14, for 'a beverage can end with an integrated pull-tab actuator.'
Inventor(s) include Srivallabha Datta Sarraju.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A Beverage Can End With An Integrated Pull-Tab Actuator The present invention relates to a beverage can end that addresses the technical problem of lifting a conventional pull-tab (106). The technical advancement is a flexible actuator (108) having a first end permanently attached to the pull-tab (106) and a second, free end configured as a gripping portion (110). When a user pulls the gripping portion (110), a lifting force is transmitted to the pull-tab (106), causing it to pivot and open the can. This eliminates the need for a user to pry the tab with a fingertip. The can body (102) may further include an integral retaining feature (112) to releasably secure the gripping portion (110). The principal use is to provide a convenient and accessible opening mechanism for beverage cans."
