MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641051636 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on April 23, for 'a big data based multi-modal system for predicting box office performance.'
Inventor(s) include G N Vivekananda; Shah Kevin Ketan; Ladani Neel Amitbhai; and Atharv Avinash Patil.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a computer-implemented system (100) for multi-modal prediction of box office performance. The system (100) comprises a data acquisition module configured to collect structured and unstructured data from multiple heterogeneous sources, including metadata, audience interaction data, and textual feedback. A data processing module is configured to perform distributed extraction, transformation, cleaning, deduplication, and integration of the collected data into a unified dataset. A feature engineering module generates predictive features including sentiment-based and engagement-based metrics derived from the processed data. A machine learning module is configured to process the generated features using regression and classification techniques. The system (100) further includes enrichment mechanisms for integrating additional contextual attributes into the dataset, enabling scalable and efficient multi-modal data processing within a unified predictive framework."
