MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411016607 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., New Delhi, on March 7, 2024, for 'a bracket to connect side body outer panel and d-pillar of a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Shelke, Vinay; and Grover, Tarun.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a bracket (10) to connect a side body outer panel (3) and a D-pillar (2) of a vehicle. The bracket (10) includes a bracket body (12) which has an inner peripheral edge (14) along the length of the bracket adapted to connect with a D-pillar (2) of the vehicle, and an outer peripheral edge (16) along the length of the bracket adapted to connect with a side body outer panel (3) of the vehicle. The bracket body (12) is fixedly connected between the D-pillar (2) and the side body outer panel (3) of the vehicle. This configuration of the bracket (10) increases the rigidity of joinery between the side body outer panel (3) and the Dpillar (2), thereby increasing overall torsional rigidity of the vehicle during vehicle twisting."
