MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311086060 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 16, 2023, for 'a bumper assembly for a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a bumper assembly for a vehicle. The bumper assembly (200) comprises a fascia member (202) extending transverse to a longitudinal direction of the vehicle. The fascia member (202) has a bottom portion (202-1) and a top portion (202-2). The bumper assembly (200) also includes a cross beam member (204) positioned behind the fascia member (202) in the longitudinal direction, and a stiffness inducing member (206) disposed between the fascia member (202) and the cross beam member (204). The stiffness inducing member (206) comprises at least one curved portion (208) arranged in vicinity of the bottom portion (202-1) to increase stiffness of the bottom portion (202-1) and reduce a deformation profile of the bottom portion (202-1) with respect to the upper portion (202-2)."
