MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087871 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'a busbar assembly and a busbar joint thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Ganesha Neelappa; Arun Raghu; and Garima Chauhan.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure elaborates upon a busbar assembly and a busbar joint (J) for connecting the busbars of the busbar assembly (100). The busbar joint (J) includes a hole (H) in a first busbar (102) and a slot (S) in a second busbar (104) of the assembly (100). The busbar joint (J) further includes a bolt (106) fitted through the hole (H) of the first busbar (102) and the slot (S) of the second busbar (104), which is fixed by a nut (108) to create the busbar joint (J). Further, the busbar joint (J) includes a sleeve (110) having a cylindrical portion and a flange fitted concentric to the bolt (106) such that the cylindrical portion remains within the slot (S) of the second busbar (104) and the flange rests against outer side of the second busbar (104). Furthermore, a Belleville washer (112) is positioned between the nut (108) and the flange."
