MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087873 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'a cap for a damper in a suspension system of a vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Balasubramanian Subramanian; Manish Kumar; Frank-Hartmut Reimann; and Peter Grosshart.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure elaborates upon a cap 100 for a damper 214 in a suspension system 200 of a vehicle. The cap 100 includes a hollow first cylindrical portion 102 configured to be disposed over the damper 214, and a hollow second cylindrical portion 104 having an open end 106 and a closed end 108. The hollow second cylindrical portion 104 is concentrically coupled to the hollow first cylindrical portion 102 at the open end 106 of the hollow second cylindrical portion 104. Further, the hollow second cylindrical portion 104 is sized such that the hollow second cylindrical portion 104 gets accommodated within an inner hollow of a top mount 210 of the suspension system 200 during a bound movement of the damper 214."
