MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531074423 A) filed by Tarsons Products Limited, Kolkata, West Bengal, on Aug. 5, 2025, for 'a centrifuge tube assembly with threaded snap-lock mechanism.'

Inventor(s) include Pradip Kumar Samanta; and Sanjive Sehgal.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The assembly (100) comprises a centrifuge tube (102) having an open end (206) with a first threaded portion (208) with at least two first threads (210a, 210b), each having a lead portion and a protruding member (212) located proximate to the lead portion. A closure member (104) comprises a second threaded portion (306) configured to engage with the first threaded portion (208) of the centrifuge tube (102). Each second thread (318a, 318b) has a corresponding lead portion with an adjacent groove. Upon full threaded engagement, each protruding member (212) on the centrifuge tube (102) is received into a corresponding groove (320) in the closure member (104), thereby forming a snap-lock retention mechanism, thereby resisting unintentional loosening of the closure member (104) during handling or centrifugation, improving sealing integrity and operational safety."
