MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050645 A) filed by Bvrit Hyderabad College Of Engineering For Women; Bandaru Shanmukha Priya; and G Purnachandrarao, Hyderabad, Telangana, on April 21, for 'a client-side smart travel planning system for personalized itinerary generation with budget optimization.'
Inventor(s) include Bandaru Shanmukha Priya; G Purnachandrarao; Sai Spoorthy Eturu; Paladugu Rishika Chowdary; and Katakam Sahithi Rithvika.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a client-side smart travel planning system for generating personalized travel itineraries with budget optimization. The system is designed to automate travel planning by processing user inputs including destination, travel duration, number of travellers, budget constraints, and preferred activity categories. An input validation module ensures the correctness and consistency of the provided data before further processing. The system utilizes a predefined local repository of travel activities, eliminating the need for external data sources. A rule-based decision engine selects suitable activities based on user preferences and contextual parameters, and an itinerary generation module organizes the selected activities into a structured, day-wise travel plan. The system further incorporates a budget optimization mechanism that evaluates the total estimated cost and replaces highercost activities with more economical alternatives to ensure alignment with user-defined budget constraints. All computations are performed locally within the client environment, avoiding dependence on cloud services, external application programming interfaces, or persistent storage of personal data. This enhances user privacy, reduces latency, and enables offline functionality. The invention provides a fast, efficient, and privacy-preserving solution for automated travel planning, suitable for personal use, educational applications, and lightweight travel assistance systems."
