MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621019272 A) filed by Central University Of Gujarat; and Dr. Hitesh Kulhari, Vadodara, Gujarat, on Feb. 19, for 'a composition comprising dendrimer-nepafenac complex and use thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A dendrimers-based formulation containing nepafenac. More particularly the present invention is related to the ophthalmic pharmaceutical formulation for topical administration of the dendrimers-based formulation of nepafenac. The further current invention also relates to the development of mucoadhesive polyamide amine (PAMAM) dendrimers-based formulation of nepafenac. This drug is a nonsteroidal, anti-inflammatory drug and is used for reducing pain and inflammation in the eyes. Nepafenac is mainly used therapy in cataract operations associated pain and inflammation. Dendrimer-based solution formulation of nepafenac to overcome the major limitations of suspension formulations of nepafenac. Higher stability and patient compliance than the suspension dosage form of nepafenac."
