MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024266 A) filed by Singh Kamaljeet, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand, on March 26, 2024, for 'a container for grain storage and protection.'

Inventor(s) include Kaur Arshdeep.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a container for the storage and protection of grains, designed to enhance grain preservation and minimize pest infestation. The container features a rectangular body with a square cross-section (6) for stability, and is fabricated using durable materials such as steel, iron or aluminum plates. The container comprises two primary compartments: a grain storage compartment (6) positioned at the top with a large inlet (3) for easy loading and a sloped drainage door (1) for effortless grain removal. The bottom of the grain storage compartment (6) is sloped at approximately 30 using corner plates (5), ensuring that grains naturally flow towards the outlet. Beneath the grain storage section (6), a pesticide application compartment is formed, with a perforated sloped bottom (4) that allows pesticide vapors to diffuse upwards into the grain storage compartment (6), providing continuous protection against pests. The compartment for holding the pesticide is accessed via a side door (7). Airtight seals around the grain inlet (3) and outlet (1) doors maintain the internal environment, preventing moisture and pests from entering. The container is also equipped with four wheels (8) for mobility and ergonomic handles (2) for easy lifting and relocation. This cost-effective container is ideal for use in rural communities, effectively controlling moisture, temperature, and pest infestation while safeguarding stored grains."
