MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411090063 A) filed by Oceanlux Ccu Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Nov. 20, 2024, for 'a continuous air purification and oxygen generation system utilizing artificial photosynthesis.'

Inventor(s) include Gaurav Raghave; and Deep Prakash Singh.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to the field of environmental technology, particularly to systems designed for improving air quality in enclosed and high-pollution environments. The invention addresses the problem of rising indoor carbon dioxide levels and the lack of continuous, sustainable solutions for air purification. The system utilizes a microalgae-based photobioreactor supported by artificial photosynthesis to capture carbon dioxide from ambient air and release oxygen. The system incorporates a dual-function air pumping unit for air intake and particulate removal, an engineered LED lighting assembly that enables round-the-clock photosynthetic activity, and a water and nutrient circulation arrangement that maintains optimal growth conditions for the microalgae. Through continuous conversion of carbon dioxide into oxygen and biomass, the invention provides an eco-friendly solution suitable for indoor spaces, green buildings, industrial zones, and applications requiring quantifiable carbon reduction."
