MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521124792 A) filed by Ifb Industries Limited, Verna, Goa, on Dec. 10, 2025, for 'a cooling device for a refrigerator.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a cooling device (100) for a refrigerator (200) which includes a holding portion (110), a storage portion (120) adapted to attach the holding portion (110) thereon. The storage portion (120) includes a body (120-A) having an enclosed space (120-B) disposed on an interior side (I) of the body (120-A). Herein, at least one cavity (130) is disposed on an exterior side (E) of the body (120-A) and adapted to accommodate a container (105) therewithin. A phase changing material (140) is adapted to fill inside the enclosed space (120-B). The phase changing material (140) absorbs heat from the container (105) accommodated in the at least one cavity (130). The cooling device (100) disclosed herein helps in cooling the containers (105) in less time and prevents toppling of the containers (105). Therefore, breakage of containers (105) or spillage of contents stored therein, is avoided."
