MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517054835 A) filed by Choose Planet A Limited, Hong Kong, on June 6, for 'a cup and a blank for a cup.'

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Cup (100) and blanks (200) for cups. The cups comprising: a base (102); a wall (104) extending from the base to a rim (106) of the cup; and a lid arrangement (108) including a flap (114) extending from the rim and foldable inwards about a fold line (134) coincident with at least part of the rim, to form at least part of a lid of the cup, wherein a part of the flap defines a spout portion (300) extending from the rim and separable from the flap along an edge (308) of the spout portion, and wherein a further part of the flap defines an aperture enlargement portion (304) extending from the edge of the spout portion and separable from the flap and the spout portion along at least a part of an edge (306) of the aperture enlargement portion."
