MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517098125 A) filed by J Carlson Pty Ltd, Sydney, on Oct. 11, for 'a device for injecting a liquid into a bale.'

Inventor(s) include Carlson, Johnathan Cecil.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for injecting a liquid into a bale, wherein the device comprises: at least one injection spike for insertion into the bale and the spike having a fluid passage therethrough; a frame for supporting the bale; a retractable bar for rigidly securing the spike on; a fluid feed pump for injecting a fluid into the bale from a fluid source through the fluid passage of the spike; where the spike comprises a terminal aperture at a bale contact end; and further comprises a side aperture toward the bale contact end; wherein when in use, a hydraulic ram mounted above the bar, which the ram is adapted to actuate and apply downward compressive pressure on the bar and spike when in use; where the spike is rigidly secured on the bar and are adapted to inject liquid into the bale before the hydraulic ram retracts."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 25, 2024, under International application No.PCT/AU2024/050273.
