Inventor(s) include Gowtham Raj Ramakrishnan; and Palash Baheti.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device (200) for torque vectoring between wheels (202) of a vehicle is disclosed. The device (200) comprises at least two Magnetic Planetary Gear (MPG) assemblies (206). One MPG assembly (206) is associated to each wheel (202). The MPG assembly (206) includes a magnetic sun gear (208) rotatably coupled with a traction motor (204), and a ring gear (210) co-axially arranged with the magnetic sun gear (208), the ring gear (210) comprising electromagnetic coils arranged in a circumferential direction thereof. A planet carrier (212) is co-axially arranged within the ring gear (210). A plurality of magnetic planet gears (214) are arranged around the magnetic sun gear (208) and rotatably fixed to the planet carrier (212). The device (200) includes a power controller (216) for controlling supply of electric current to the electromagnetic coils of the ring gear (210) to apply a torque on the planet carrier (212)."
