MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024898 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'a device for wrapping an insulation on a pipe.'

Inventor(s) include Ranvijay Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A device for wrapping an insulation on a pipe comprises of a base platform 1 having four telescopic legs with tri-wheel 2 assemblies it their ends, for moving over plain surface and stairs, a robotic arm 3 having a motorized grinding wheel 10 at its end provided on the platform 1 to remove corrosion, a telescopic arm 4 having a nozzle 5 at its end connected to a tank for spraying a primer solution, a main arm 6 attached on the platform 1 having a ring 7, a primary roller 8 attached to the ring 7 having a first spool of an insulation material, a secondary roller 9 attached to the ring 7 having a spool of a cladding material, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit installed on the base platform 1 to scan for bend sections in the pipe."
