MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641025739 A) filed by Saveetha Institute Of Medical And Technical Sciences, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on March 5, for 'a dynamic coccyx off-loading pelvic brace for sitting, standing,and ambulatory support.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a dynamic coccyx off-loading pelvic brace comprising an adjustable waist belt, adjustable thigh straps, a spring-loaded coccyx pad, and dynamic adjustment hinges interconnecting the waist belt and thigh straps. The brace is configured to redistribute load away from the coccyx region while permitting controlled pelvic and hip motion. The spring-loaded coccyx pad provides responsive pressure modulation in response to posture changes, thereby reducing direct coccygeal loading during sitting and transitional movements. The device is intended for orthopedic support, physiotherapy, and postural assistance applications."
