MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202321086469 A) filed by Reliance Industries Limited, Maharashtra, on Dec. 18, 2023, for 'a fabric comprising boron nitride and method of preparation thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Debarati Roy Chowdhury; Vivek Prabhakar Raje; Vikas Kumar Singh; Goswami Kaustav; Mahendra Kumar Shukla; Joseph Amirthasamy Berksman; Prateek Nigam; and Chandan Saha.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure describes a fabric comprising boron nitride at a concentration ranging from about 0.001 wt.% to 0.1 wt.%, wherein the fabric is characterized by features selected from group comprising anti-microbial, thermal cooling, anti-odour, ultraviolet protection, and combinations thereof. The fabric demonstrates further properties including but not limited to excellent washing fastness, rubbing fastness, perspiration fastness, sublimation fastness and light fastness."
