Inventor(s) include Jay Satish Sahasrabudhe.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A footwear structure with an elastic collar for water-resistant sealing and a method thereof is disclosed. The footwear structure (100) comprises a knitted cover (110) forming an outer portion, constructed from one or more synthetic fibres. Beneath the knitted cover, a multilayered sleeve (120) adapted to form an inner portion of the footwear structure. The multilayered sleeve includes a first layer (130) and a second layer (140), the latter comprising a waterproof and breathable thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) material. The TPU layer functions as a barrier, enhancing both water resistance and structural cohesion of the sleeve. Additionally, the footwear structure features an elastic collar (150) positioned at its opening, designed to create a snug fit around a user's ankle. The collar, made from a water-resistant elastic material, minimizes water ingress, providing enhanced protection and comfort in wet conditions. Furthermore, an outsole (160) covers seam, bonds outer portion and enhances waterproofing."
