MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547085222 A) filed by Koninklijke Philips N. V., Eindhoven, Netherlands, on Sept. 8, for 'a hair curler.'

Inventor(s) include Zhang, Jun; Jiang, Ou; Zhang, Haixing; Law, Chak Yuen; and Li, Wai Ho.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A hair curler has a heating barrel with an adjustable size. The barrel size is changed by a manually-operated selector which is mechanically coupled to a barrel size changing mechanism. A sensing unit is coupled with the manually-operated selector for sensing the position of the manually-operated selector. A controller controls an operation parameter of the hair curler based on the sensed selected position. In this way, the hair curler can be controlled differently for different curl sizes, without complicating the mechanical barrel size changing mechanism."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 21, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/057516.
