MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621029053 A) filed by Dr. Kalyani S. Kakad; Dr. Pravin D. Chaudhari; Mr. Uddhav Bhanudas Vairat; Ms. Sakshi Laxman Dongare; Ms. Gayatri Shivaji Gawari; and P. E. Society's Modern College Of Pharmacy, Pune, Maharashtra, on March 11, for 'a herbal tablet composition for the management of gall bladder diseases.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a 5 herbal pharmaceutical composition in the form of tablets intended for the management and supportive treatment of gall bladder diseases. The formulation comprises a combination of herbal ingredients including Picrorhiza kurroa, Picrorhiza kurroa, and Bergenia ciliata, along with pharmaceutically acceptable excipients such as starch, microcrystalline cellulose, 10 talc, magnesium stearate, and methyl paraben. The herbal ingredients are formulated into tablets of approximately 250 mg using a wet granulation technique to improve compressibility, flow properties, and uniformity of the dosage form. The prepared tablets are evaluated for pharmaceutical parameters including weight variation, hardness, friability, disintegration time, and thickness. The formulation 15 demonstrates satisfactory physical characteristics and provides a stable and convenient dosage form suitable for herbal therapeutic applications in gall bladder disorders."
