MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088090 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Limited, New Delhi, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'a knuckle shape for mounting a suspension arm in a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Akshat Johri; Raghavendra Vedartham; Arun Bisht; Rakesh Khanger; Raman Kochhar; and Pradeep Kathuria.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a knuckle (100) for mounting a suspension arm (200) in a vehicle. The knuckle (100) comprises a body (10) having a bore (11) 5 adapted to receive a spindle pin (201). The body (10) is defined with a first side (10a), a second side (10b), and a peripheral side (10c) connecting the first side (10a) and the second side (10c). A mounting provision (20) integrally extends from the first side (10a) to couple with the suspension arm (200). Further, a first arm (30) integrally extends away from the peripheral side (10c) to couple with a strut of the 10 vehicle and a second arm (40) integrally extending away from the peripheral side (10c) to couple with a steering tie rod of the vehicle."
