MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621025039 A) filed by Kpi Green Hydrogen And Ammonia Private Limited, Surat, Gujarat, on March 3, for 'a lifecycle protection system for an industrial alkaline electrolyser stack.'

Inventor(s) include Sathyajit Shaji; and Komal Rajendra Jarhad.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A lifecycle protection system (100) for an industrial alkaline electrolyser stack (10) is disclosed. The system comprises a conductivity sensing unit (20, 91) configured to measure ionic conductivity of process water supplied to the electrolyser stack (10), a thermal sensing unit (30) including at least one temperature sensor (31, 32, 33, 92, 93, 94) for measuring temperature associated with stack operation, a control unit (40) implemented within a control panel (96), and an electrolyser operating interface (50). The control unit (40) continuously acquires conductivity and temperature measurements, compares the measurements with predefined degradation-safe thresholds using a threshold comparison module (46), computes deviation magnitude and persistence duration through modules (44, 45), and determines a cumulative degradation index using a degradation index computation module (43). A decision logic module (47) generates output control signals (60) to implement controlled derating, staged restriction, or temporary suspension, thereby limiting cumulative electrochemical and thermal degradation of the electrolyser stack (10)."
