MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411074323 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Oct. 1, 2024, for 'a lint filter assembly of an appliance.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A lint filter assembly (100) of an appliance is provided. The lint filter assembly (100) includes a rear cover (102) coupled inside a drum assembly (116) of the appliance, a front cover (104) coupled on the rear cover (102) to form a lint collecting cavity for collecting lint from a detergent water during a washing cycle of the appliance, and a sliding plate (108) slidably coupled inside the lint collecting cavity that slides from a bottom to a top of the lint collecting cavity during the washing cycle of the appliance due to buoyancy effect of detergent water, and during a drain cycle of the appliance the sliding plate (108) slides from top to bottom of the lint collecting cavity due to decrease in buoyant force of detergent water for cleaning the accumulated lint particles collected inside the lint collected cavity."
