MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024326 A) filed by Manav Rachna University, Faridabad, Haryana, on March 27, 2024, for 'a liquid fuel for combustion appliances.'

Inventor(s) include Varshney Pradeep K; Devnani Harsha; Kapahi Meena; Bura Anchal; and Manisha.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a clean burning ecofriendly liquid fuel for combustion appliances in which an appliance comprises a wick consisting of cotton being capable of delivering the said liquid by capillary mechanism, a reservoir for storing the said liquid fuel, wherein the said liquid fuel being combustible with high smoke point. The reservoir made of any metal or glass or clay. The combustible liquid with smoke point between 200 and 4000c consists of (a) 60 to 99% fat with high concentration unsaturated fatty acids, (b) 30 to 50 % natural fragrance oil (c) 0.01 to 2.0 % oxidation inhibitor (d) 0.01 to 2.0 % stabilizers selected from salts and sugar and (e ) 0.01 to 2.5% ignition promoter. The fuel is capable of delivering uniform colored flame having fragrance. The fuel burns for a longer time does not produce and residue, soot and obnoxious gases."
