MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441010315 A) filed by Wipro Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, Karnataka, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'a luminaire and a method of installing the luminaire.'

Inventor(s) include Rajesh Sangewar; Vinayak Vishwanath Prabhu; Manoj Kumar Khera; and Janardhan Panchal.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure herein relates to a luminaire (100) that is configured to be surface mounted on a mounting surface (10) such as a ceiling of a clean room, and a method (300) of installing the luminaire. The luminaire (100) includes a housing (102) with a light-emitting module (104) disposed inside, and a driver unit (200) mounted outside the housing on the top side (10B) of the mounting surface (10). The rear face (102B) of the housing (102) is in abutting contact with the bottom side (10A) of the mounting surface (10), preserving structural integrity without requiring cutouts. The driver unit (200) includes an auto cut-off switch (208) that disconnects power when a cover (204) is detached from a tray (202). The luminaire and method allow top-side maintenance, flexible placement, dust prevention, enhanced safety, and a simplified installation process."
