MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621007047 A) filed by St. Vincent Pallotti College Of Engineering And Technology, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Jan. 23, for 'a manual cold press oil extraction machine.'
Inventor(s) include Deo, Shripad Vikrant; Satputaley, Sushant Satish; Boob, Ghansham Ramchandra; and Bhagat, Pramod Rambhau.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a manual cold press oil extraction machine. The machine operates manually without electricity, fuel, or heating elements. Oil seeds or nuts are placed in a perforated container (107) positioned on a table (108). A perforated cylinder (106) holds the oil seeds for pressing. A piston connected to an inverted hydraulic jack (103) applies mechanical force on the seeds. The hydraulic jack (103) operates by up and down motion of a handle or lever, causing the piston to move downward inside the perforated cylinder (106) and extract oil. Oil expelled from the perforated container (107) is collected in an outside container. After complete pressing, a release valve of the hydraulic jack (103) is opened to move the piston upward, assisted by springs (102). The machine extracts oil at room temperature, preserving vitamins, antioxidants, aroma, and natural properties. The machine is suitable for small scale industries and domestic use."
