MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088425 A) filed by Chakr Innovation Private Limited, New Delhi, on Dec. 23, 2023, for 'a metal-air battery with a hybrid flow channel.'
Inventor(s) include Nayan Anand; Karan Raikar; and Rohan Yuttham.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a metal-air battery unit (10, 300, 400) and a metal- air battery module (100) including the same. The battery unit (10) includes a housing (12) adapted to removably receive an anode (30) and a cathode (24). The battery unit (10) further includes an inlet port (14) and an outlet port (16) provided on the housing. The inlet port (14) is configured to allow entrance of an electrolyte into the battery unit (10) and the outlet port (16) is configured to eject the electrolyte outside the battery unit (10). The inlet port is extended within the housing (12) forming an inlet channel (40) which is fluidly connected to a vortex distributor (50), such that the vortex distributor is configured to facilitate flow of the electrolyte into the inlet channel (40) in a swirling pattern (42), thereby facilitating uniform flow of the electrolyte over the anode (30)."
