MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611022881 A) filed by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 26, for 'a method, a device and a system for sterile controlled-dispensing and chemical-preserving management of endodontic irrigants.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Preeti Mishra; and Dr Manmohan Bansal.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a sterile controlled-dispensing and chemical-preserving modular irrigant management system for endodontic procedures. The system comprises a housing unit accommodating a plurality of sealed irrigant chambers, each configured to store a predetermined volume of an endodontic irrigant such as sodium hypochlorite, chlorhexidine, EDTA, or saline. Each chamber includes an airtight sealing mechanism and is operatively coupled to a controlled dispensing module comprising a self-sealing membrane port and a one-way anti-backflow valve to enable syringe-based withdrawal without environmental exposure. The housing further includes a chemical-preserving enclosure formed of UV-resistant material and oxygen-minimizing seals to reduce photodegradation and evaporation of sensitive irrigants. A sequential selection mechanism allows structured access to individual chambers, preventing cross-contamination and misidentification during multi-step irrigation protocols."
