MUMBAI, India, June 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341087877 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'a method and system for identifying static objects on a path.'

Inventor(s) include Mali Dasharathbhai Dahyalal; Jeevitha Shetty; Laxmi Kant Sahoo; Prachi Solanki; Hitul Desai; and Amey Kavade.

The application for the patent was published on June 27, under issue no. 26/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a method and system for identifying one or more static objects on a path. In an embodiment, method comprises generating fused bin feature matrix corresponding to one or more static objects and determining attention mask corresponding to fused bin feature matrix. Further, the method comprises generating transformed bin feature matrix by applying series of multi-head attention blocks on fused bin feature matrix and attention mask. Thereafter, 10 edge feature matrix corresponding to fused bin feature matrix is determined by identifying one or more edge features corresponding to fused bin feature matrix. Furthermore, method comprises generating segment feature data by concatenating transformed bin feature matrix to edge feature matrix and determining output probability score for segment feature data by analyzing segment feature data using classification model. Further navigation system identifies 15 one or more static objects on path based on determined output probability score."
