MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411074821 A) filed by Chairman, Defence Research & Development Organisation, New Delhi, on Oct. 3, 2024, for 'a method for assembly of a zirconia amperometric oxygen sensor.'

Inventor(s) include Radhakrishnan, Joghee Kullan; Sudhir, Shridhar Kamble; Geetika; Kumara, Mahadevappa; and Nithila.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a method of fabricating a Zirconia amperometric Oxygen sensor assembly. The method comprises the steps of fabricating an oxygen pump sub-assembly (100) by obtaining a Zirconia disc (101) and screen printing the obtained Zirconia disc (101) with porous Pt-electrodes on both its upper and lower sides; fabricating a diffusion barrier with an annular heater sub-assembly (200) by providing an alumina disc (201) with a micro-hole (203) at its centre and screen printing the alumina diffusion barrier disc (201) with an annular thick film Pt-heater (204); fabricating a sensor assembly (300) by joining the oxygen pump sub-assembly (100) and the diffusion barrier with an annular heater sub-assembly (200) around their rim by a glass sealing; and affixing a chromel-alumel thermocouple junction (304) to the base of the fabricated sensor assembly (300)."
