MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202347044000 A) filed by Evonik Operations Gmbh, Essen, Germany, on June 30, 2023, for 'a method for classifying the gut inflammation status in avian species.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a method for classifying the gut inflammation status of an avian subject or of a group of avian subjects to be tested, the method comprising the comparison of the average methylation levels within a panel of pre-selected LMRs in the genomic DNA isolated from gut sample material deriving from the individual avian subject or of the group of avian subjects to be tested with the average methylation levels of the same panel of LMRs in the genomic DNA pertaining to one or more reference samples having a negative gut inflammation status."
The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 22, 2021, under International application No.PCT/EP2021/082444.
